Restorative Yin Yoga: Wednesdays 12:15-1pm
A slow, supported practice for deep release.
• Enjoy some mid-week quiet time as you work to slowly release difficult areas such as the back, hips, shoulders and many other areas. The restorative element is found in the many props used to safely and comfortably relax into a pose. Postures are held for 3 to 5 minutes with a maximum of 10 poses per class. Modifications are alway part of the process. We will find the right position and propping for your unique body.
• Yin yoga requires a minimal amount of engagement, aiming for stillness and holding for time to achieve a slow release throughout the body’s connective tissue network. It is designed to target fascia, ligaments, joints, and even bones. Connective tissue responds and releases through long held poses or sustained pressure. In order for the fascial structures to take the stretch and stress of the pose, the muscles need to be as relaxed and disengaged as possible.
