Mandalas for Mindfulness

    Take time out from the long winter to create a piece of artwork that allows you to be fully present in the moment. Mandalas, repetition of patterns and symmetry in a circular form, can be used to calm down, gather thoughts, and enhance concentration. After a quick historical / cultural tour and basic mandala design instruction, we will listen to relaxing music as we create our mandalas. Your design can be freehand or symmetrical, vibrant or subdued. Words or images can be included in your design. We will demonstrate the magic of creating a petal mandala and the equally magical properties blending watercolor pencils. Bring a favorite quote or words to include on your mandala if you wish.  (We will also have a list).  All materials furnished.  You will leave with a 10” x 10” mandala on watercolor paper (in a sleeve with mat back suitable for display).
